  • Shake well
  • Remove wooden lid
  • Remove plastic stopper from bottle
  • Replace wooden lid and turn upside down for 3-5 seconds. This will disperse the contents into the wooden lid
  • Replace stopper (important)
  • Replace wooden lid
  • You should now smell the fragrances as it is soaked into the wooden lid
  • It is recommended to perform the above process over a sink 
  • Repeat the above process when fragrances subsides

Please note that the contents of the diffuser can cause damage to vehicle interior is spillage or leakage occurs. Please follow the above directions. The replacement of the rubber stopper is imperative to ensure no leakage occurs. It can be tempting to leave the stopper out so it is easier to just flip the diffuser without having to take the time to remove the stopper, but please understand the potential risk of damaging your vehicle. Homebody Essentials assumes no liability for any damage caused. Please understand these risks before using. If spillage does occur wipe with a cloth immediately.

  • The liquid contents can damage the interior of a vehicle - be sure to replace the plastic stopper to prevent leakage> Homebody Essentials does not accept liability for any damage caused to motor vehicle interiors from leakage.

  • If hanging from the rear view mirror of your vehicle, ensure you tie tight enough to avoid the glass diffuser striking the windshield with shift in vehicle momentum

At this time we do not. Eventually over time the wooden cap will begin to degrade as it will continuously be soaked in the oils. We believe at this time that it just makes more sense to get a new unit so that your lid is fresh rather than fussing with a refill bottle.

Really it boils down to your liking. Once you load the diffuser and put it in the smaller space of your vehicle, you should get a sense of how strong the smell is and how long it will last for. It comes down to personal preference for how strong you want the smell to be. For me I usually load it once a week and that is plenty strong enough for me.

We strongly recommend NOT doing that - for a couple of reasons. With an open lid, the liquid inside the diffuser is likely to spill and this can damage the vehicle interior. Also, with no stopper, the diffuser liquid can leech out more quickly into the cap and actually up the rope which makes for a mess. Removing the stopper also limits the control you have regarding the strength of the scent.

Homebody Essentials waives all liability with respect to potential damage to vehicle interior if you choose to remove the rubber stopper from the diffuser. As tempting as it might be to make it easier to reload, we strongly recommend against removing the stopper and instead, following the instructions provided here and on the product packaging.

Looking back at our stats, our most popular scent to date is Citrus Spice. This really boils down to personal preference as well. We always have our diffusers at our markets so you can smell for yourself and decide which one you like the best. We have tried to provide a number of scent profiles so there is something for everyone.

We love the fact that our diffusers are scented with 100% pure essential oils rather than the use of artificial and synthetic fragrance oils that can be irritating to some people. Our diffuser base is also natural and it has a lovely scent throw meaning the scent will last, especially in a small space.

Some essential oils are not suitable for pets to breathe in - peppermint, eucalyptus + citrus can be irritating to pets. If your pets travel with you in your vehicle, please take this into consideration.

Please do your research regarding exposing your pets to any scents - not just essential oils - and then make the decision that suits your situation best.
