Health Canada now requires all cosmetic companies to advise their customers of potential fragrance related allergens that are contained in their products at certain concentrations. This allows consumers to identify ingredients to which they may be allergic or sensitive, or wish to avoid, helping them make more informed health decisions regarding product purchase and use.

We do not use fragrance oils in any of our products, therefore you will never see the term "fragrance" or "parfum" in our ingredient lists. This does make our job easier than other makers who use fragrance oils as these tend to contain more of these potential allergens than essential oils. 

Some essential oils do still contain potential allergens that are contained within Health Canada's list of fragrance allergens - so any of the allergens listed below are contained within the essential oils that are used to scent our products.

Why We Use It

Coco Caprylate is an ECOCERT approved smooth spreading plant based emollient derived from coconuts that we add to products to improve how quickly and easily the product is absorbed to the skin. Without this ingredient in some of our formulas, carrier oils alone can sit on top of the skin and leave a greasy skin feel. It also helps products spread nicely across the skin without drag. This is a high quality and very expensive ingredient but one that is well worth adding as an alternative to synthetic silicones.

Beeswax acts as a natural, breathable, and protective emollient that seals in moisture without clogging pores. Why We Use It

Cranberry Seed Oil is known for its anti-oxidant qualities which helps the other oils in our fomula stay fresh longer. We chose not to include any essential oils in our Baby Serum. Our Cranberry Seed has a very natural scent to ensure the final product scent is very neutral for baby.

Our Baby Serum is 100% natural - free from fragrance oils, essential oils and all synthetic ingredients. This formula doesn't get anymore natural than this - which makes it the perfect choice for your baby's gentle and delicate skin.

All lotions - including ours - will need to have a preservative contained within it. This is because lotions and creams are water based products and as such - a broad spectrum preservative must be included or bacteria + mold can form - we all know where there is water there is life - and life is something you do not want in your self care products.

Because there are no fragrances or essential oils in this product - that means there are no fragrance allergens either. Every ingredient in this formula is pure, gentle and perfect for newborn skin.

When applied right out of the bath to slightly damp skin, rub our Baby Serum into their skin for a gentle massage which also nourishes and hydrates at the same time.

You will play around with this to find the right amount for you - start with one pump of Baby Serum and rub it between your hands and then onto baby's damp skin. A little goes a long way and you don't have much ground to cover with the littles. Rub in well and let it soak in for a minute before PJ's.

If using in the bath, simply pump 2-3 pumps into running bath water. This will not provide bubbles but make the bath water super silky and is safe for the eyes.

Great question. Our Baby Serum is definitely more greasy than a traditional lotion is - but less greasy than you would think it would be since it is made up of all oil based products.

When you apply it with slightly damp skin, the product spreads beautifully when it combines with the water on baby's skin. It does soak in quickly because we us Fractionated Coconut oil and an ECOCERT emollient called Coco Caprylate Caprate which help with absorption.

If you are feel it is too greasy there is the possibility that you are using too much. A little goes a long way.

Baby Serum is currently only available in our free from scents option. We believe that keeping fragrances even in the form of natural essential oils out of baby's routine is best -especially when they are so small and still developing their respiratory system.

If you really are interested in a scented product - you can certainly try our Body Serum which has all of the same ingredients as our Baby Serum with added essential oils for scent.

We think it is worth a try - of course we can't make guarantees but we do believe that this product being 100% natural removes the concerns of hidden ingredients irritating the skin. When we researched other popular natural baby lotions on the market I was shocked to see a laundry list of ingredients on the label that are potentially irritating to adults, let alone babies. Parents thinking that they are solving dry skin concerns by slathering lotions on their baby to combat the dry skin, all the while potentially making the situation worse because of claims made on the outside of a bottle that make it seem that they are working with a natural product. Particularly fragrances and "parfum" listed on labels can often have a catch all of ingredients in there that companies are not required to list. With all that said - we believe you can have confidence in this product as it is 100% plant based, natural and free of all fragrances and essential oils.

We believe that the ingredients contained in this formula are so healthy and nourishing for your baby's skin that it will help them feel soft and moisturized without the fear of any synthetic ingredients or fragrances getting close to your little one. We believe you will feel confident in choosing this product over and over again for your family. You can even use this on older children and adults as well!
