Our essential oil blends are beautiful, natural and something you don't have to feel guilty wondering what you are putting on your body. 

This Coffee + Sugar Scrub is scented entirely with Roasted Coffee Bean + Vanilla Essential Oil - nothing fake here - and let me tell you - the scent is just that - real. 

I could open the jar and smell it for hours. It is such an authentic coffee smell it is hard to find another word to describe it.

We do not use fragrance oils in any of our products, therefore you will never see the term "fragrance" or "parfum" in our ingredient lists. This does make our job easier than other makers who use fragrance oils as these tend to contain more of these potential allergens than essential oils.

Why We Use It

We have chosen to formulate our Body Butter as a water based product rather than oil based. We found that a water based formula soaks into the skin faster and doesn't sit on top like many body butter products on the market. Traditional oil based body butters struggle to keep proper consistency and will melt in warmer temperatures, during shipping etc. Distilled water is used as the base of this product combined with two humectants (glycerin and propanediol) that help to draw the moisture from the distilled water into the skin.

Why We Use It

Kokum butter is a highly moisturizing, non-comedogenic, and lightweight emollient - a harder butter than Mango Butter -the combination of both butters in this formula produces a thick and luscious texture. It excels at deeply hydrating skin without clogging pores, repairing the skin barrier, and providing antioxidant protection through high levels of vitamin E and essential fatty acids. It is ideal for treating dry, cracked skin. Not to be confused with Cocoa Butter, Kokum Butter does not have the same chocolatey scent that Cocoa Butter does.

Why We Use It

Coco Caprylate is an ECOCERT approved smooth spreading plant based emollient derived from coconuts that we add to products to improve how quickly and easily the product is absorbed to the skin. Without this ingredient in some of our formulas, carrier oils alone can sit on top of the skin and leave a greasy skin feel. It also helps products spread nicely across the skin without drag. This is a high quality and very expensive ingredient but one that is well worth adding as an alternative to synthetic silicones.

We add a small amount of coffee powder to white sugar in order to add additional exfoliation to the scrub. It softens + polishes skin. We do not use all coffee because coffee is not dissolvable in water like sugar is. The small amount that is contained easily washes down your drain but using coffee scrubs with larger amounts of coffee powder can be a challenge for your plumbing. This also adds the flexs of color in the blend. .
