We found that a water based formula soaks into the skin faster and doesn't sit on top like many body butter products on the market. This formula is water based therefore it requires a broad spectrum preservative to keep the product from growing bacteria and mold. We have chosen Optiphen Plus which is one of the most effective broad spectrum preservatives, but still free from parabens phtlatates and formaldehyde.
