Fragrancing our products with essential oils not only gives a more natural aroma but you also reap the benefits that essential oils have to offer. For example, our mint + eucalyptus scented products are so popular for people wanting to reduce stress and clear congestion - benefits that are created by the use of the peppermint + eucalyptus essential oils. Synthetic fragrance oils are unfortunately full of chemicals that are not natural in any way and provide no benefits and can in fact create allergies and disrupt hormones.

None of our products contain dyes, micas or glitter - all of these are synthetic and really do not serve a purpose other than esthetics. All of our products will appear in the their natural colours other than if we intentionally add a natural clay to give it some natural color. Instead, we have opted to create color in our brand through the use of our product labels which appear in bold and vibrant colours rather than introducing unnecessary ingredients to our products. Being natural doesn't have to look boring!

Some of our products have preservatives because they are water based. Where there is water, there is life - and life is something you do NOT want in your bath + body products. We would rather include a preservative in our products than potentially sell you something that could grow mold or bacteria. The preservatives we have chosen are phtlatate + paraben free and most meet ECOCERT standards. We do offer a variety of products that are 100% oil based that are preservative free so please check those out on our website.

Great question! Our original intention was to use glass to reduce the amount of plastic however, as we got going with our business, we quickly learned that using glass, while desired for the environment, actually increased emissions and costs of shipping as it would often result in breakage of products, no matter how much packaging materials we used. In addition, so many of our products are used in the bathtub and shower, we found that safety was an important factor as we didn't want glass breaking in your shower where surfaces become inevitably slippery. We do still use glass for some of our smaller products like cuticle oil, essential oil roller balls and Nourish Face Oils. We also choose tin or cardboard when we can. Rest assured all of the plastic containers we use are fully recyclable, simply rinse out and put into your recycling bin.
